Birthdays

Joey, as in most years, had a couple birthday parties to celebrate turning 3 (and it's technically not his birthday yet!). We're in Asheville spending some time with Angie during her leave before she goes to Iraq.
Jason and Angie at the "after party" today.

Ray and Breanna today at Woodfin park for Joey's birthday party.

Party guests.

So excited over a birthday cake.

Sorry Angie, had to post this since Di didn't do a retake with your eyes open.

Joey's Curious George cake (all he wanted was a monkey cake and this was the best they could do at the last minute).

This was Joey's first birthday celebration in Georgia at the beginning of the month with his Georgia "peeps."

Angie, Me and Joey at Sonic the other day.

More of today's party (pics are out of order, sorry.)

Here and There

I just remembered I had some pictures on my memory card in my camera (which has stopped working at all), so I popped it in and grabbed some photos from Asheville, and a few newer ones from here in VA. These first pictures are Joey and Earl when we visited Earl at work one day.

The rest of the pics are from fun in Asheville.

Joey loved when Ray rode him around like he was an airplane.

Kiara (like Joey) doesn't see the point in picking up dropped food or wiping up spilled drinks: instead they'd rather just continue eating or drinking it off the ground or table or wherever it is. It was popsickles this day at a park in Asheville.

Joey asked me to sit on the motorcycle with him. I was a lucky girl.

My strong little guy.

Mikey and Joey had a lot of fun climbing on everything.

This was the day we went to Asheville Pizza where you can watch a movie for $3 and eat pizza (definitely not $3, he he). It was Joey's first movie at a theater. Monsters Vs. Aliens. He did so good. He sat through the entire movie and ate pizza. It helped that he could stand up anytime he wanted and it wasn't pitch dark. I don't know if he'd do as good at a regular theater.

New Home

We don't get our furniture until Thursday, so there's no use in posting pics of empty rooms, so instead, here's the link to the pictures of the house when it was put on the market for sale last month (I think they were seeing which could happen faster: a buy offer or a renter).

Me and Joey will be heading to Asheville next weekend as soon as our stuff gets here so that we can spend a little time with Angie during her leave, before she heads to Iraq. Poor Earl will have the whole house to himself. :)

About our new home: Earl's friend he met here when he first got to VA for school and became motorcycle riding buddies with, invited us to his church and we really liked it a lot. Joey loved it too. And they do preschool there during the school year that I plan on enrolling Joey in this week. He starts in Sept. It will be 3 days a week, for 3 hours. My boy is growing up. ;) Also, we're only about 3 minutes from a Walmart shopping center. And Earl has about a 25-30 drive to work (which is about 25 min less than he was having to drive from the campground).

There are many many playgrounds in the area for Joey to enjoy. And we haven't yet visited the beaches but that will be soon.

Camping in Chesapeake

Considering the horrible bugs that find their way all over me to bite me, I'm so glad to be out of the camper. We usually love camping, but the bug bites are horrible! I'm not sure if it's VA in general, or just this campground, or just our camper, but we've all got welts and bumps all over from them. We found a house to rent here in Chesapeake, but haven't taken pics or anything yet. So here's our week here:

Two crazy monkeys just watching TV in the camper.

One of his favorite pasttimes while camping was playing T-ball. I can't wait till he's on a team playing. He'll have so much fun (and that will give me a break, he he).

Not sure what this look is about, but it's cracking me up looking at it.

Me and Joey went to Mt Trashmore in Virginia Beach which apparently used to be a dump or something that they've planted pretty grass on and now want you to eat off of and have your kids play there. ;)

This is a view of one of the sides of Mt Trashmore.

This is the top.

The view of the playground at the bottom.

On the way down Joey said he needed to sit to take a break.

On the way to our campsite everyday we got to see lots of deer by the road. Earl even saw a baby brown bear the other morning! Me and Joey saw rabbits too. And an ugly big lizard that attacked hung out outside our camper. Did I mention we're so glad to be in a home now and not camping...he he. Pics of the house to come.
